Digiarjen Sankari: Collins Abah designs user-friendly eCommerce solutions

In Digiarjen Sankarit -blog series we get a sneak peak of Digian's career stories. This time we get to hear about Collins Abah, who is working as a full stack developer specialized in web and mobile app development. He builds eCommerce applications for both online and offline retail stores.

 I’ve  been working as a full stack developer for over 12 years now. Specialized in web and mobile app development. And for the past few years now I have been building eCommerce applications for both online and offline retail stores;  hence I was recruited to join Digia eCommence division team in building eCommence solutions for their clients.I’m currently working as a Lead eCommerce Developer in Digia eCommerce division.  We design online stores together with the customer and end-users, to guarantee the best possible user experience and conversion rate.

Different projects and technologies

In Digia we have so many projects from different clients in different sector of the industry. Hence we are introduced to vast array of technologies based on the business need and what will serve the projects and clients the most.  My day to day work includes building online stores for our eCommerce clients, using technologies like: Magento eCommerce Platform Linux, PHP, MySQL, and nginx web server and Amazon web services.

We get to work on Interesting and challenging projects that will help build and shape your career in the best form. All projects are different and the technologies we choose are designed specially to fit the projects. We have a good Team members that you can share a lot of ideas with and we all help each others. Conducive and ergonomic work environment is also one of the main things.

Everyone here in Digia communicates very good in English. So I didn’t find it hard as a non-Finnish speaking person to integrate with the Digia culture. Also most importantly our client communicates well in English, which helps in meeting and product planning and development. Digia also facilitate a Finnish class within the office premises which I’m also currently attending.

I want to work for an organization where I can build a career and I know Digia is that place for me.

My goal right now is to find a position at a company where I can grow and take on new challenges over time. Ultimately, I’d like to assume more management responsibilities and get involved in product strategy. But most importantly, I want to work for an organization where I can build a career; and I know Digia is that place for me.
